BridgeFest

Bridgeville is home to BridgeFest, the annual event when Aliens and Humans gather on the old bridge and determine, once and for all, who is flying Saucer Contest Champion and Grand Emperor of the Universe. Come witness the invasion by Aliens and UFOs that occurs during BridgeFest, accompanied by live music, vendors selling earthly and unearthly wares, and general out-of-this-world fun. Remember, not all Aliens bite, some are actually friendly. The event takes place the third Saturday in August, located on Planet Earth. See you there!!!

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

The Bridgeville Community Center is partnering up with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to get books to children aged 0 - 4 years old (they graduate when they turn 5). These books are provided free of charge to the families. They get one book mailed every month they are enrolled in the program. This is a great program to have children develop a love for books. Dolly started this program as a result of her father never learning to read. And we need your support to make sure that doesn't happen in Humboldt County. Please visit our Donation Page for more information about the program and how to donate. Getting books to children in Humboldt County is our goal.

If you wish to sign your child up for the Imagination Library please go to: www.ImaginationLibrary.com

The Bridgeville Community Center began in 1991 with a Healthy Start Grant. This funding allowed the community to plan and build a Community Center that would provide services to the school children, their families and the community-at-large.

The vision behind the Community Center is to improve the well-being of all members of the community, from children to adults. We provide family centered supportive services with the belief that educational and life success cannot be separated from physical health, social and emotional support, and strong families.

To find out about events and what is going on in our community, please check out the Bridgeville Community Newsletter (calendar on last page of the newsletter).

And BridgeFest, our grand event, occurs every August.

The Bridgeville Community Center depends on grants and contributions from donors like you. If you would like to make a donation to the Bridgeville Community Center, please mail it to:

Bridgeville Community Center, PO Box 3, Bridgeville, CA 95526.

The Bridgeville Community Center is a Federal non-profit organization and donations are tax deductable. Please consider donating and supporting the community center.
